Mobile number portability starts in Haryana from Nov 1

Mobile number portability, a service we've been needing for years is going to finally up in Haryana from November 1st.Many countries have been already using this service but India was too late to adopt this.Nevertheless, now Indian users would be privileged to use this service soon.The service is being rolled out in 11 circles across the country, and the first place to have the service is Haryana. The service in the rest of the 11 circles would be implemented by December 20th.

For those who are not aware of Mobile number portability (MNP), it enables mobile telephone users to retain their mobile telephone numbers when changing from one mobile network operator to another.Only condition besides the usual formalities would be that the subscribers must pay up all pending bills before making an application for MNP. The porting fees ( if any) is to be paid to the new operator. No payment is required to be given to the operator you are leaving.
