Happy New year to all. Very special Number day today indeed. 1-1-11. 2010 will be remembered as the year when android gets more serious and when smartphones got off their pedestal and become more user-oriented. Sadly Samsung called off symbian support on 31st December 2010. That was shcoking but expected as by october 2010 Here we list the five smartphones that look like they might define and shape the market in 2011.
The LG Star is one of the Dual Core Tegra 2 device. It currently has Android 2.2 running on the device but It wont be a surprise if by the time of end of January 2011 the Star runs on 2.3 as LG has already committed to putting Android 2.3 on their lower end Optimus One line-up of phones.
As far as the hardware is concerned, it looks to be just about finalized. The Star sports a 4" display, however it doesn't look to be a Super AMOLED display, rather it looks to be a LCD display. It has a 8MP camera on the back and a front facing camera with an unknown quality (probably VGA), and also sports a mini HDMI port on the top of the device.
