San Joao Festival Rocks in Goa...!! Viva San Joao
The annual popular Sao Joao festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour across the state on Monday June 23. The festival is better known for the jumping of people into the local village wells. The jumping act symbolizes St John Baptist’s leaping in his mother Elizabeth’s womb when visited by Mary who was expecting Jesus. Sao Joao is also known as the ‘Janvoiyanchem fest’ better known as the feast of sons-in-laws. Once the traditional process is over, all the young and old then plunge into the village wells. The feast, locally known and observed as ‘Sao Joao’, is always celebrated with great enthusiasm. A unique feature which distinguishes Goa from other parts of the world is the act of jumping into the wells, ponds and rivers in contrast to the normally held church services.
Newly-married couples play a very important role in the celebration. Generally the bride carries all the goodies to be distributed among the youth of the village and the groom carries all the hard drinks like the Goan ‘feni’, beer and others.
The day is just celebrated with different games and traditional events like the traditional boat festival which is being organized every year at Siolim on the occasion of Sao Joao.
People who take part in the celebration are, as a rule, made to wear on their heads a crown - traditionally known as ‘Kopel’ - made of flowers.
The Sao Joao Festival is most pompously celebrated in Goa amongst the Catholic community. This occasion marks the celebration by the local youth in the villages of Goa who normally get drunk and jump into wells according to the existing tradition of Sao Joao festival.

Motorolla Ming's
Motorola is in the news again with the unveiling of two more handsets that we've been keeping tabs on - namely the new MING handsets - the A1600 and A1800. Both handsets are categorized as business class devices running on the same Linux OS; only these new MINGs promise to offer a whole lot more than just a business class feel and features.
Motorola MING A1600
The A1600 is a Quad-band GSM handset that comes equipped with a 2.4-inch TFT touch screen display (QVGA resolution) that can be used with the bundled stylus of course. It supports EDGE and GPRS but doesn’t seem to have 3G support. The A1600 will also feature a 3MP auto-focus camera that will be capable of shooting burst images in a GIF format and storing them as a single file
The handset will also support external memory via microSD cards. With regard to other connectivity, the A1600 supports Bluetooth with an A2DP profile and Micro USB connectivity. It also has a media player and an integrated FM radio. What really makes this handset more attractive is the fact that it comes equipped with GPS capabilities with Geotagging as well.
My Rating: 8/10
Motorola MING A1800
The second MING making its presence is the Dual SIM A1800. It's not too different from the A1600, with its 2.4 inch touchscreen display, 3MP camera, microSD support, Bluetooth A2DP, EDGE / GPRS support and built in GPS
My Rating : 7/10

Samsung YP-P2 -Color of Music
Although designed along the lines of the iPod Touch, the Samsung YP-P2 has a charm that's all its own. It's available in three appealing colors; White, Black and the one we received - Red Wine. Its design is pretty sleek and looks quite elegant too. It's a little smaller in dimension than the Touch; especially the width and weight, which makes it easily pocketable. The player's build is decent too.
The front comprises of the decently-sized touch-screen and is covered by a now-typical transparent material, which makes the front prone to fingerprints. The high resolution makes the content look crisp and vivid; which is the case with most Samsung products. The screen has a 16:9 (wide-screen) aspect ratio that makes it great for viewing DVD rips without those annoying black borders at the top and bottom.
The Samsung YP-P2 currently sells for a street price of approximately Rs. 11,500 for the 4 GB version and Rs. 14,000 for the 8 GB one. Comparatively speaking, the iPod Touch 8 GB is available for around 13,700 and the 16 GB for 16.7k.
The 3.5mm headphone port, data cable connector and Microphone.

Remembering 18th June 1983..!! Wow...Refreshed Memory..!!
Cricket World Cup 1983 is best known for being the tournament of the underdogs. It was the third event to be held in England in the history of Cricket World Cup. Contested by eight countries, this tournament followed the same pattern as the pervious two world championships.
The matches in Cricket World Cup 1983 had 60 overs per team. The eight teams were divided into two groups of four countries each. Each country played its group member twice, and the two best teams from each group qualified for the semis.
Cricket World Cup 1983 witnessed the downfall of West Indies as the superpower of the cricketing world. The biggest upsets in the tournament were caused by minnows India and Zimbabwe, who defeated champions West Indies and Australia respectively in the group stages. Winners of the first two Cricket World Cups, West Indies had a tough time battling then inconsequential teams like India.
Eventually, England, West Indies, India and Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals of Cricket World Cup 1983. West Indies and India went on to qualify for the final.
But I would never forget that match between india and zimbabwe on 18th june 1983 where Kapil Dev really smashed best innings at world cup.
Though I am 1987 born alien,i saw the match clips and was very impressed with the clarity of play which kapil paaji followed in his betting to take india into semifinals.!!
On a damp pitch on which bowling first would have been better option, kapil chose batting and indian batting line up crashed heavily..!!
It was 78/7 and kapil got india out of trouble not only scoring 175 but finally winning the same game and ultimetly the 1983 world cup..!!

NASA Phoenix Mars Lander Confirms Frozen Water.!!
Scientists relishing confirmation of water ice near the surface beside NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander anticipate even bigger discoveries from the robotic mission.
The mission has the right instruments for analyzing soil and ice to determine whether the local environment just below the surface of far-northern Mars has ever been favorable for microbial life. Key factors are whether the water ever becomes available as a liquid and whether organic compounds are present that could provide chemical building blocks and energy for life. Phoenix landed on May 25 for a Mars surface mission planned to last for three months.

Vista Sucessor???
I have been vista user for almost 1.3 Years now...well i know vista has lot many security issues, and too many compatibility problems...but still i love to work on vista..!!
The next version of the Windows operating system will likely arrive in early 2010, officials at Microsoft has said.
The most important change to the software, currently dubbed Windows 7, will be its multi-touch technology. Customers will be able to use their fingers to perform tasks such as moving documents or displaying photos right on the touch-ready display.
Windows 7 is based on Windows Vista, Microsoft's current operating system.
Wondering, when microsoft will solve current vista problems...even though SP1 of vista is launched,it seems to to affect the feature of compatibility and security issues.!!
Oh god..!! m still waiting untill current vista becomes STABLE..!!!

Yet another APPLE Launch..!!!
3G technology gives iPhone fast access to the Internet and email over cellular networks around the world. iPhone 3G also makes it possible to do more in more places: Surf the web, download email, get directions, and watch video — even while you’re on a call
How it works.
iPhone 3G uses a technology protocol called HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) to download data fast over UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) networks. Email attachments and web pages load twice as fast on 3G networks as on 2G EDGE networks.1 And since iPhone 3G seamlessly switches between EDGE, faster 3G, and even faster Wi-Fi, you always get the best speeds possible.
SAFARI
iPhone features Safari — the most advanced web browser ever on a portable device. And with 3G and Wi-Fi, you can browse the real Internet really fast. iPhone also syncs your bookmarks from your PC or Mac and has Google and Yahoo! search built in.
IPOD
With its beautiful 3.5-inch widescreen display and Multi-Touch controls, iPhone is also one amazing iPod. Browse your music in Cover Flow and watch widescreen video with the touch of a finger.
MAPS WITH GPS
Find your location, get directions, and see traffic — all from your phone. Maps on iPhone 3G combines GPS, Wi-Fi, and cell tower location technology with the Multi-Touch interface to create the best mobile map application ever.
YOU TUBE
iPhone keeps you entertained with a YouTube application that opens right from the Home screen, so you can watch YouTube wherever you are. Videos load fast over 3G or Wi-Fi. Find a video you like? Bookmark it or share it with a friend.
MAIL
Email on iPhone looks and works just like email on your computer. With support for popular email servers and providers — including MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo! Mail, Google Gmail, and AOL — and most industry-standard IMAP or POP mail systems, iPhone puts email in your pocket.
PHONE
With iPhone, making a call is as simple as tapping a name or number. All your contacts appear in a list you scroll through with a flick of your finger. And Visual Voicemail plays your messages in any order you want, just like email.
iTUNES
Buy music over the air from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPhone. Find a Wi-Fi hot spot and tap the iTunes button. Then take your pick from more than 6 million songs.
PHOTOS AND CAMERA
With a built-in camera and an advanced photo application, iPhone is the most photo-friendly phone ever. It takes snapshots, automatically syncs photos with your PC or Mac, displays albums with the flick of a finger, and posts pictures directly to a MobileMe Gallery.
SMS
With a chat-style view and an intelligent Multi-Touch keyboard that predicts and suggests words as you type, iPhone texts smarter than any smartphone.
LAUNCH DATE : 11th JULY 2008

"Status" Depends on Status Maintained..!!!
Well i always belive that the dirtiest things are the ones to be always looked for...what i mean is;for eg.this was a time when i went to CCD and i saw some match sticks on the floor..probably they must have thrown them iresponsibly without taking into consideration of ;whther anyone will sit on the same place or not...
Floor is what i call the dirtiest thing here as it in on which we walk..but they play important role in describing the TRUE STATUS;may it be home,or office or pub or cafe.
Cafe Coffee Day..finish coffee outlet in whole world...but is this wat we all expect from them..??
Not one,not two..whole floor corner was looking not at the standard of CCD..it was so bad...!! really bad
well i had seen this happening many times,so finally i spoke to the manager and told him..he too agreed to this and was happy with my comment..
well i would say its truly mistake of those irresponsible humans who act stupid and selfish w/o thinking of others..!!

Rate @ +5 Per Liter...(Certainly Nope discount)
I usually have a habit of working on PC alongside with News channels ON;on Television.
Was reading some article on india times suddenly coming across Z news showing the update of petrol rate rise..!!
What went in my mind that time??
1.Couldnot belive the price went high as to increase economical status(as said by government)..i couldnot belive...
2.thought of government people who earn 4000-5000 PM,how would they match up with this hight peak rate?
3.Do government think with respect to COMMON MAN?
4.Finally,my situation was like,i was thinking if 5Rs per lit was increased, that mean for every 10KM 50Rs would be spent extra...well thats too much cozz i usually travel 10km-50Km a day..!!!
5.Last but not the least, thought "WISH IF I HAD OIL RIG"...ha ha ha

Aarra ra ra..Rajasthan Royal..Halla Bol(wed) Chennai
Well..never expected Rajasthan to win IPL..but it was shocking thing..cozz initially they were so slow in catching up with other great teams...
But they really proved that THEY REALLY EARNED IPL MASTER TROPHY WITH TOTAL TEAM WORK.
Finally the 1st IPL was won by Rajathan Royals with a trilling finish by the captain and Shoaib Tanvir.
The chaise of 164 was very tough to achieve on slower side pitch, but royals never lost hopes.
Goan Boy Swapnil Gave a gud start yet again, but 43/3 was what the score was at one stage. But Mr.Yusuf Pathan and Watson played a blistering innings, and showed the way to closet win over Super Kings.
Two semi-finals of the Indian Premier league were one-sided affairs, but the finale of the tournament went down to wire as Rajasthan Royals defeated Chennai Super Kings off the last ball of the tournament to win the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League. The Super Kings defended their total of 163 for 5 admirably as they ran the Royals close, but the Jaipur team's batsmen kept their cool to help their side finish as deserving champions of the league.
Well...though i was kolkatta knight rider supporter, finally i landed upto ranjasthan royals...well..kolkatta falling back out of semis were totally thier own mistake...may be they can bounce back next year..!!
