Yahoo! Avatars are displayed in the Messenger List of Yahoo! Messenger versions 6.0 and higher.
Now yahoo is come up with advance feature of Yahoo Avatar Town(Beta)..well its just auesome..!!! (wondering..if Beta is so cool..how will be the alpha version)
Well Simple interfacing and it takes just 2MB per whole selection and masking up the avatar of ur own choice...

yeah it looks cool...and most importantly approx 2mb goes..that is more than efficient when FLASH comes into picture...
